Valentines Ideas.

I'm just sitting here making my son's valentine cards for tomorrow and thought I would share this idea with you. This is not my idea but I'm going to give you the link for it below. These are super cute little valentine gifts and they are supposed to have a washi tape feathers at the end of the pencil but I just don't have time for that lol.

For my husband I stopped by the store and got a two dollar journal. It had 143 pages so there is 143 reasons why I love him written in this journal. I thought it would be difficult to think of 143 things to put on all the pages but actually it was quite easy. I could have used a bigger journal!!

So if you need a last-minute idea there are two. And as promised here is the link for the target printables....

Have a great valentines weekend!!

Starplus quilt along week one

By now you should have your fabrics purchased and cut. For this week (Nov 1-8) let's focus on making at least five star blocks. Some of you however have done way more than that already... Yay for being ahead!!

Here is the schedule I had planned out:
November 1-8 sew five small star blocks
November 9-15 sew five small blocks
November 16-22 sew four small blocks and one large block
November 23-29 sew five medium blocks

The linky party will be open November 25 through December first. Winners will be drawn December second. Quilt tops do not need to be quilted for the linky party and drawing.

Keep in mind that if you want to have your quilt top quilted by crinklelove you need to have it to her no later than November 21 in order to receive the discount. For this reason you will have to double up.

I hope you all are having fun so far! I'm loving seeing your profess! Don't forget to use #starplusqal in the comments of your photos on social media!!

A Quilt For My Dad

I have wanted to make my dad a quilt for a while now. I had a large amount of Oh Deer and I chose to make simple wonky blocks. Wonky is my favorite!

For the back I used a simple Robert Kaufman flannel in yellow.

The quilt measures approximately 58 inches wide by 72 inches long. I wanted to make sure it was long enough I cover him well. He gets cold easily now a days.

For the binding I used a dot print from the same line. As always I used a zig zag stitch for the binding. Even though I've been told that's not propper I like the way it looks and holds up.

Thanks for stopping in!!

Pillowcase Challenge

I am excited to announce a new challenge!! For those of you who do not know I am part of the do good stitches group's humility circle and each month we send quilts to the Pine Ridge Reservation. I have teamed up with a guidance counselor from the school out there to hand out handmade pillowcases to children in elementary through high school. Many of us can't send an entire quilt so here is a simpler way to help out and brighten someone's day. For each pillowcase you send post a picture on IG and tag #pillowsforpineridge I will be giving out random gifts such as small FQB's, rotary cutters, and other sewing notions and other gifts. Please mail your pillowcases to:
